Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our grading process, pricing, and turnaround times.

Standard turnaround is 2–3 weeks from the day we receive your cards. We email you the moment they arrive, when grading is complete, and when they ship back.
We grade on a 20-tier half-point scale, from 10 Gem Mint at the top down to 1.0 Poor. Every grade is shown as both the number and the name (e.g. "9.5 Gem Mint"):
  • 10 Gem Mint
  • 10 Mint
  • 9.5 Gem Mint
  • 9.0 Mint
  • 8.5 Near Mint +
  • 8.0 Near Mint-Mint
  • 7.5 Near Mint +
  • 7.0 Near Mint
  • 6.5 Excellent-Near Mint +
  • 6.0 Excellent-Near Mint
  • 5.5 Excellent +
  • 5.0 Excellent
  • 4.5 Very Good-Excellent +
  • 4.0 Very Good-Excellent
  • 3.5 Very Good +
  • 3.0 Very Good
  • 2.5 Good +
  • 2.0 Good
  • 1.5 Fair
  • 1.0 Poor
Half-grades let us award the precise tier between two whole numbers.
Each card receives four sub-grades — Centering, Corners, Edges, and Surface — each on the same 1–10 scale. The overall grade reflects the card as a whole, not strictly an average, since a single critical flaw (a soft corner, a print line) can pull the overall down even when the other categories are stronger.
We grade all major trading card games and sports cards including Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, and more. Raw cards only — we don't re-grade cards already slabbed by another company at this time.
We document the condition of every card the moment it arrives. If something looks wrong with your package, we photograph it before opening and reach out so you can file a claim with your shipping carrier. This is why we strongly recommend USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance.
We stand behind our grades. If you believe an error was made, contact us within 30 days of receiving your graded cards and we'll review the case. A $25 grade-review fee applies — fully refunded if we revise the grade.
Use rigid card savers or toploaders inside a bubble mailer or small box, with the packing slip we email you tucked inside. We recommend USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance for valuable cards.
All cards are handled with the utmost care in our secure facility. We recommend insuring your package for its full value when shipping to us — your shipping carrier's insurance covers transit, and ours covers the cards from the moment we sign for them.
